11xxx27 is the project of Erminio Granata, also known for having been the co-owner of Italian Infidel Bodies label, with which, some years ago, he released music from artists such as Common Poetry, Turvia, Soj, Le Moderniste, among others.
Since the first Infidel Bodies release, which was a 11xxx27 release, he explored a highly wide range of styles in his releases, from industrial techno to drone, ambient, noise, and experimental dark electronics.
When Infidel Bodies stopped its activities, he released two releases with together with Mystics, the first one being released on Zhark Recordings in 2023, the other one on the Italian label Repulse Xplosif. Besides releasing music, Erminio Granata also explored the mastering direction.
Two years after his last release, on 14th March, he released his last effort, Where Dreams Collide, available on CD and digital, released by Repulse Xplosif as well. This new work once again showcases what we already know about this eclectic artist: 11xxx27 is a sound artist opened to a particularly large array of solutions.
In these eight quite short songs we can find dark electronic music with a punk attitude in songs such as Total Isolation and Vicious Desires, cinematic electro-industrial-ish drone-like outputs such as The Gift Of Forgiveness, Flight To Dead and Last Call, and metallurgic slow distorted beats put on a drone-like noisy sharpened background, such as in the opener Perception of Reality and in Celestial Overdose.
Each 11xxx27 release should be perceived as a whole, without describing each song in detail. What is truly important here is enjoying how the artist has drawn his ideas onto his personal canvas.
Always exploring different directions has been one of the most important trademarks of the artist since his early releases, and that’s what we appreciate the most about this polyhedric project. Where Dreams Collide is upteenth confirmation of what we expect from him.
