Broken English Club – Songs Of Love And Decay

broken-english-club-songs-of-love-and-decayOliver Ho can be surely considered one of the most relevant industrial and dark electronics artists, not only for its releases with the alias Broken English Club, but also for what released with his cult label Death & Leisure.

Relevant artists such as Years Of Denial, Maenad Veyl, December, Autumns and, of course, Broken English Club itself, have released some of their best stuff with this label, and especially Years Of Denial have often collaborated with Oliver Ho. Also their sound could be considered reminiscent of theirs.

Given this, three years after the release of the impressive kaleidoscopic full length The Artificial Animal on Death & Leisure, Broken English Club released a new album on Dekmantel UFO on 21st March, entitled Songs Of Love And Decay, and dedicated to the memory of Juan Mendez (Silent Servant), who died in early 2024.

Broken English Club first release was released on Mendez iconic label Jealous God in 2014. Also Phase Fatale dedicated its release Love Is Destructive (also) to the memory of this great and relevant DJ and Producer.

This new 2xLP contains 11 new songs (14 songs in the digital version) showcasing the artist at its best, alternating darker atmospheric slower songs such as the opener A Shallow Lake, England Heretic, Pacific Island Kill and the ending song The Occult Body (reminiscent of the best Dive outputs) to atmospheric dark industrial-techno outputs such as Ghost, Love and Decay and many others. As always with such kind of releases, it’s useless to describe each track in detail.

Expect a very inspired and multifaceted release, a must buy for each fan of this music.
