Infinity Division – Satisfaction

Published by Alessandro Violante on May 5, 2025

infinity-division-satisfactionThe mixture of broken beats, early rave sounds (including that of the “hoover” and lysergic melodies) can be a good definition of what electronic music could sound like in our post-digital/modernist/whatever era, especially if you’re a fan of ’90s electronic music.

After having released music as S.A.T.I.N. (together with Ireen Amnes) and Minimal Violence on labels such as Tresor and Technicolour / Ninja Tune, Ash Luk released its debut album Satisfaction with the Inifinity Division alias on its brand new label SOFTCORE UNLTD on 11th April on vinyl and digital.

The choice of releasing this release with its creature is obviously the best one in order to allow the artist to be freed from any music business rule, and the final result proves it’s done it right.

These thirteen songs, including remixes by Baseck, Assyouti and Dj Loser, express this abovementioned mixture of sounds in a pretty convincing way, sometimes giving to the work a darker atmosphere; sometimes a more “melodic” taste; sometimes a more claustrophobic atmosphere; sometimes a calmer one.

Although, like most of the times happens, it’s useless writing a track-by-track review, early rave fans surely will appreciate the abovementioned hoover sounds in the title track (featuring Nova Bruise), and a specific mention should be made for the slower Weather Prophets (featuring Coy Mistress).

If you’re a fan of broken beat and early rave music and you would know how they could sound like today without seeming nostalgic, listening to Satisfaction by Infinity Division could be a great choice.
